Firmware 11

I not seeing the usual reviews of new firmware. Anyone install Ver. 11 and have any  issues?

    I think if the device memory is full, the device may work slower.

    There is an upper limit to the number of activities that the device can process, I think it is 100. There is another user here who is much more versed in this than me, perhaps they will weigh in. Regardless, when you hit that limit, the device will not retain an activity in the history folder, but it will "save" and upload it.

    The activity limit is 200. If that is exceeded it's the most recent activities that are removed rather than the oldest

    My device rebooting after validation complete. Trying to upgrade from 10.25 -> 11. Same was on 10.25->10.26. Before that with no problems

    If you upgrade from 10.25 you have to follow the special instructions (to remove the Media folder, see point 4 below). The instructions below are for updating to 10.26, but they will also apply for updating to 11.00:

    Instructions to recover from crash (10.25):

    1. Power off your device. If it crashes, just wait until the screen is completely blank.
    2. Hold the lap key and continue to hold it as you plug it into the computer via USB.
    3. When you see the Edge has connected to the computer, you can let the lap key go.
    4. Delete the Garmin/Apps/Media folder from your device. After updating to 10.26, it will be recreated, and that is expected.
    5. Install the 10.26 software following the usual installation instructions.

    Thanks! This worked... unfortunately all the CIQ apps are gone. Restarted, waited but did not recovered.

    Odd issue for me, used Strava IQ app to load a course, but Garmin wouldn’t let me shut down the device saying I have to close the IQ app first, no idea how that is supposed to work, I ended up having to plug it into the PC to get it to shut down

    I have the Same Problem... Update to 11 few days ago and today the garmin crashes and Start with english but in the System-Settings the garmin shows german... and i can not change it back to german :-(

    One thing I learned my kids as soon as possible: always use the native language of a program. Translations are always odd or wrong, late, and/or create crashes. And using native language of the program (firmware in this case) has the benefit that fixed for errors are more easily found on the internet. Learning the few menu’s you use is easy and you learn a bit of a foreign language!
