Anybody have this issue. Stages power meter all works fine however 1030 plus read 0 successful cal on Garmin.
Reads correctly around 900 on Stages app. Does it matter if the Garmin doesn’t cal so long as it is cal’d with Stages?
Regards
Dave

The calibration process of the Stages crank finds the "zero point" for the built-in strain gauge. It is a "crank internal" process. So, yes, if the calibration is done with the Stages App, that's ok too!
But funny thing is - my 1030 plus shows the calibration value (around 900).
That's what my 1030 reports also when I calibrate.
Sorry do you mean ‘0’ or ‘around 900’
Calibration is something totally internal to the power meter which has its own processor and firmware. All the Edge does it request a calibration. The actual calibration is totally done within the power meter. Then the power meter can report a result. In your case this fails. But if you have calibrated using your iPhone app, that is good enough. The power meter will then report accurate power numbers that the Edge will use. Again that calibration is not something the Edge does and cares about really, it just initiated it.
The only power meter on the market that requires the head unit to apply any offset based on the calibration is the SRM.
Thanks for that info, good to know
Just as an update...my 1030 plus was using Bluetooth to connect and gave a ‘0’ reading on the calibration however if you delete this sensor and use the Ant + instead of Bluetooth then calibration works. Which explains why some see the correct reading and others do not
