Grouptrack with non-Garmin devices.

I have a edge 1030, but my brother just uses his phone as a head unit. He will be riding towards me tomorrow, and I will be riding towards him, and we will meet somewhere in the middle.

Group track would be great for this, however is it possible for him to just have the Garmin app on his phone without an edge device and allow me to track him on my 1030? If not, are there any alternatives/widgets which may help?

Only way would be to add him to the email list in livetrack then he can follow your progress via the map link sent in the email.
