Virtual partner and points on courses

Hi, I'm using the navigation feature on my edge 830 but i have an issue with the virtual partner arrow always confusing me, it's bigger than the position arrow and i can't find a way to disable it... Has someone solved the issue? Also when creating a route i can set a target pace, by leaving it blank i was hoping it turned the virtual partner off, didn't work either.

Still on the navigation theme, why if i add a point on a course in garmin connect (like a peak or a water tap mark) then it is not visible on the garmin edge? How do i add points to my track like aid station and similar?

Thanks

  • Set a target pace much slower or much faster than your actual pace.

Garmin Connect should be including your custom course points.

It doesn’t include the automatic ones (for turns) for units that use maps.

In any case, you won’t get course points unless you use fit (the default) or tcx files. I’m assuming you are using the default.

  • Thanks for the virtual partnes suggestion, about the aid stations custom points on the map, your suggestion may work if i drag and drop the course in the NEWFILE directory of my gps but by syncing it via garmin connect from the phone i see the water point on the phone but it does not appear on my edge.

  • Make sure course points are enabled on the device.

  • I reimported the route, then i went into settings, the 'show route points' was already enabled, i tried to disable and enable it again and it worked. Thanks for your help.
