Speed & Elevation

Over the past week I have noticed that my elevation is incorrect by around 50% (eg. 1000m ascent showing as 1500m) and that I am getting speed spikes when using a speed sensor 2, I thought it might be the sensor battery so have changed that to no avail.  Swapped sensor still the same.  However, when I rode today and allowed the GPS to record speed everything was correct.  Has the latest software update introduced a couple of bugs?

BTW, the speed spikes aren't nominal they are crazy, I had a descent speed yesterday of 136kph and i wasn't falling off a cliff!!  Another one was on a slight descent were I was actually doing around 45kph but had a spike to 74kph.

Anybody else experienced this?

Are Garmin aware?

Is a fix being put in  place?

  • I'm finding v10 elevation as reported on the device during a ride is 50-80% inflated compared to ride mapping sites.  Used to be almost dead on.

Distance is also about 5% too high compared to pre-v10.   I haven't seen the speed spikes so the issue seems to be more subtle for me.   I've used "automatic" and "manual" with calibrated circumference values without fixing the issue.
