Added miles on 1030

First time ever my edge 1030 as added extra miles.After stopping for a coffee break approx 30 mins,my 1030 decided to add 20 miles to mileage recorded.any ideas,I was with a friend who uses 520,is was ok. Very puzzling. ??

What I can think of:
you did not press „pause“ or/and autopause did not come in. Means: your activity recorded during your pause. The GPS signal was poor and recorded some „strange points“ far away from your position. And that‘s the way you gained some extra kilometres!

You could on the button there,auto pause was on,as always but found this on Strava.

...but it seems you use no speedsensor!
Without speedsensor autopause does not work properly.
If you use a speedsensor, it might be possible that the sensor disconnected during the pause and GPS took over.
