Is there a way to stop reminders to Update Firmware?

After a very eventful update history over the last 12 months with my Edge 1030, I am now happy with v9.5 because it does all I need.

I can already see loads of posts of potential new issues with v10, so I just want to stay as is.

So is there anyway to stop the nagging reminder to update every time I power up?

Only - not really executable - solution:

Delete the file GUPDATE.GCD on your device, cut off from Wifi and Phone, don‘t use Garmin Express.

As I can see lots of potential new issues with this firmware posted here, I do not want to upgrade!!

Please how can I stop the nagging reminder?

Would be nice / courteous to know if it is possible or not?

If not possible then would appreciate feedback on this reported issue, because I certainly don't want to upgrade if this is what I can expect?:
