No emergency / incident service with exchanged edge 1030

I have received a refurbished Edge due to blue halo and wanted to activate emergency / incident service.

On the edge it said that I have to configure Driver and emergency contact. This has already been done, but obviously, since it was activated on the old edge, I tried to deactivate the service and received a prompt on the Edge that the service has been deactivated.

I then tried to activate it again but don't receive any prompt on the Edge. In Garmin Connect, everything seems to be working fine, also my contact did receive a notification that she is now an emergency contact.

On the Edge, if I tap on emergency service it still says that driver and contact has to be configured in the GCM App, which I did.

Already tried to unpair and repair edge, but nothing changed. Any ideas in how to resolve this issue?

Other phone related things like Bike alarm are working.

  • I'm not really firm on accident notification - I don’t use it, but I know that you have to enable contacts for Garmin Connect on the phone.
    On the iPhone:
Settings - scroll down to Connect app - enable contacts.

  • Yes, that is right and I'm aware of that. Contact Permission is already enabled and I can set a contact as well.

After two times of un- and repairing edge to GCM, it now works. Haven't done anything different. Kinda strange.
