9.50 false jumps and missed incident

For the past couple of weeks I’ve noticed 1 or 2 false jumps per 1-hr MTB ride. I’ll just be riding on relatively level ground and get the “nice jump” notification. The stats at least one of these jumps were uncharacteristically long, both distance and hang time, like twice my actual jumps. I never had this happen in more than a year of riding. I’m also getting more missed jumps than in the past.

I slid out and wrecked pretty hard yesterday but no incident was detected. Handlebars sounds around backwards, no time to clip out, hard landing on my leg, etc. Yes I have incident detection enabled and have had similar incidents detected in the past.

Today I finished a road ride, stopped in my driveway, pushed the start/stop button, and then an incident detection went off. So now I’ve had both a false positive and a false negative with 9.50.

  • I just closed to incident detection. But jumps or not working now, still waiting for new update. everything is a mass on unit

  • There was mention a while ago, I think by Aweatherall that the out front mount could in some cases amplify vibrations and trigger the jumps. If you're using the out front mount you could try the rubber band mount instead and see if it improves it. Maybe use the lanyard as well in case anything breaks :-)
