Does the Edge 1030 give street names while I'm navigating?

I have a nice bike GPS Cyclo 315) , but I keep straying off course without knowing why and then it sometimes directs me to go back to home. Does the Edge 1030 help with navigation (such as Right turn 160 yards to Stonehenge St.) I know a street will be labelled with a name on the map, but I need better navigation help. I guess the key word here is "street names." Do you get the distance for next turn, right or left arrow, AND street name to turn onto. Thanks

  • The Edge 1030 does Turn-by-Turn navigation. When that is enabled it will announce turns as you are looking for.

Do you mean that street names are NOT used for helping navigation? (not just street name labels on the map). I'm purposely being insistent as I'm considering a purchase of the Edge 1030.

  • No, there are several options but you can have what you want, that is the Edge will call the name of the street you will turn on. It also can show o turn-specific map with a big arrow showing the intersection, where to turn. There is also a count-down of the distance to the turn (starting at 250m and down) as well as an estimated time counter in seconds. It is pretty darn hard to miss a turn. If you look at the detailed review on dcrainmaker.com in the video I would be surprise he does not show that working.
