I've got the same issue - any chance you managed to fix it?

  • There is a touch screen sensitivity setting for each activity profile. Select Activity Profiles from the home screen three bar menu, select a profile, and Touch Sensitivity is the last setting - you scroll down to see it. I've found that I have to set it to High or I frequently get no response when I swipe the screen.

OTOH, if the screen isn't responding at all, then you're not going to be able to get to that setting to change it.

Hi, sadly it's the latter! Completely unresponsive screen, attempted a 3 button reset and now I can't change/select the language - so guessing it's a bung unit

  • Is it possible that the display is locked (by accident)?

When device is switched on, press the ON/OFF button and look at the top of the screen.

  • I have the same issue. It operates correctly but as it warms up -for the effect of sunlight or normal operation, touchscreen won't respond any longer. I even have to wait for a couple of hours till it cools down to be able to save my work session.

I am considering purchasing a remote control. But if you find a solution, please advise.

  • When did you buy your EDGE 1030? Originally there was a problem with the screen called "halo blue" when from the edges during then month more and more pixel started to change its color to blue or so. So I could see a box around. In my case this was replaced by Garmin under warranty and got a new device. I have been experiencing sensitivity issue for a few months and it is more and more annoying. However I cannot tell if this is related to the CPU overload (slow response) or touch screen (in)sensitivity.

  • Hi Zoli. I got it 2 years ago, and yes, I got the blue halo, too. It appeared about a year later and it thickened with time. I talked to Garmin about my sensitivity issue and they sent a replacement unit as soon as I mentioned the blue halo.

I’m not sure the sensitivity issue relates to that blue halo as mine worked fine for about a year while I had it on my screen. I’m more inclined to think the sensitivity issue comes as a result of the harsh long hours of exposure to direct sunlight during the long rides, especially with hot sun-rain-hot sun intervals.

And as for the CPU, I feel it's a very powerful processor. And even when it sometimes got a little slow while setting up screens and stuff like that, I have no complaints about performance in every ride's workload.

    I hope that helps!

  • Have you tried to adjust the sensitivity to a higher level? As  indicates, you can adjust it in each profile's settings

There is a touch screen sensitivity setting for each activity profile.
