Wont't boot without reset. Incomplete shutdown has drawn the battery.

I experience the issue where it seems to crash during shutdown. When I try to boot the next day it won't, it is hang. I hold power about 10s and then it boots. I then find out battery is drained a lot because of the failed shutdown. It does that very often. Most annoying. Solution ?

1.Complain here, complain to garmin and garmin beta

2.Downgrade to a previos beta fw, I choosed Fw 9.34 beta

3.Try to not connect your garmin to GC with usb cable because it will auyomatically uodate to 9.50

If you can, plug into a PC and run a chkdsk /f over the device storage.

I did this. On a Mac since I don't use PC's. Disk Utility ran a First Aid on the /Garmin folder and did find some minor issues with the FAT structure and fixed the. After tha I had lost the profiles and had to copy them from a backup. But so far it seems to have cured the crash issues with the unit. Thanks.

Glad to hear it. It’s a common problem with all garmins. Fat isn’t a very reliable filesystem and it’s easy to corrupt by doing a forced reset or unplugging from a computer without ejecting.
