You may want to consider using the built-in light control widget with your lights, that's what I do. I less thing that can fail and the built-in control does the job. For the bike garage, I manadage my bike mileage in Connect where I created my bikes under Gear. I get mileage there. I personally prefer to do all house keeping on the phone or the web site rather than the Edge itself, which is not a great computer to work on. But it is a matter of your own preference obviously.
To answer your initial question: It is not possible to install Trek Garage on a „normal“ Edge 1030 because it is available for Bontrager only.
What I can think of - but I doubt it will work - to search someone who has installed the widget on his Bontrager edge. Copy the widget PRG-file to your folder /Garmin/Apps and try out... (on your own risk!)
