Anybody know how I can pair my 1030 with my Iphone X again,Garmin app fell out now impossible to pair.

Had my Edge 1030 for a year soon, no problem at all. 2 days ago my Iphone X needed a few apps to log onto - among them Garmin Connect. Afterwards there was a error message on the connetion to 1030. Was not able to syncro. I have tested all solutions i can think of, delete / forgot unit on phone and repaired but impossible to complete, get error message.

I have deleted app and reloaded it, set Edge 1030 to factory spec, still not possible. what am I missing

  • Delete all the Bluetooth items for the Garmin from the iPhone,  then start Garmin connect and pair via that.    If you try and pair directly with the phone first it doesn’t work ( well didn’t for me ).

    I had problems this morning pairing a 1030 I bought for my wife.  I'm not sure which of the following fixed the issue, as I did them all at once:

    1. Powered Garmin off, and back on
    2. Powered phone off, and back on
    3. Deleted, and reinstalled Garmin Connect
    4. Deleted the profile in my phone's bluetooth connection (the app will handle this...don't do it manually)
    5. Started connection process again, and just waited....it took a good 3-5 minutes before it showed up in the "select an accessory" popup screen.  

    I'm not sure if patience is the real solution, or if it was removing and reinstalling Garmin Connect (that's where my money is).  

  • Same here , I thought the length of time it took to discover the device was excessively long.

    yes, i just were very patient then it popped up and started pairing in the end too , probably were too fast first,,, two days,,
