Experience with version 9.50

Dear all, let me share my firmware 9.50 experience with you.

1) Installation - flawless

2) first ride: all sensors connected automatically (garmin heartrate, power2max powermeter, garmin speedsensor and garmin varia radar), phone connected also

3) started workout (via Trainingpeaks): but when stopped the activity was NOT uploaded automatically. = FAULT 1, solved by removing and re-adding phone connection.

-> ACTION: removed bluetooth phone connection, created new one

4) second workout (via Trainingpeaks): blue start arrow kept showing, even after starting workout. = FAULT 2, solved by going to 'home' screen and back to workout screen

5) third workout: in a 1,5 hour ride: FAULT= 4 times powerdropouts, one time the radar dropped out too. Radar dropout was notified (beep), powerdropouts NOT notified.

Had some tests with ClimbPro, will post by questions in a separate post.

Very disappointed about the dropouts, if I cannot solve this, I have to go back to 9.10...

Should I reconnect all sensors to remove dropouts ? Did not have them on ride 1 and 2. And, more important, never had dropouts in 9.10. And I know I had not, because I analyse all my rides in detail.

  • I've done 4 rides with 9.50 now and all works fine. Activities are auto uploaded as soon as I finish them, no dropouts, climbPro works as before. Happy with this firmware.

  • Installed no problem but unable to load course kept getting errors whilst calculating. Also a few power dropouts. Had to go back to 9.10

  • Three rides with it so far:

    1. 1030<>phone connection less reliable than previously. It takes a long time for the connection to establish - eg after starting an activity yesterday , I managed to ride almost five kilometres before the connection established itself and Livetrack started - and I get multiple instances of "phone disconnected" followed some time later by "phone connected" during the course of a ride.

    2. When I end an activity and save it, it gets uploaded automatically via my phone, and GCM displays the ride, but when I have a look at Livetrack under the GCM menu, it thinks that Livetrack is still running, and I have to terminate it manually.

After the first ride with these problems, I got the GCM and Bluetooth on the phone to forget the 1030, and the 1030 to forget the phone, and setup the connection again. The same problems persisted on the second ride, so I then did a reset on the 1030, got the GCM and Bluetooth on the phone to forget the 1030, cleared cache and data for the GCM app on the phone, and setup the connection yet again, but still the same problems on the third ride.

There was also a GCM update to 4.31 between the 2nd and 3rd rides, but that hasn't fixed the problems.
