Incomplete or corrup .fit file due to Auto Sleep and/or Auto Pause?

New Garmin 1030. After starting a ride yesterday, I stopped for about 10 minutes to chat with a friend. I did not manually pause or stop recording. After resuming the ride my Garmin seemed to resume and act normally and after finishing I saved my ride. Although my ride is in my Garmin's History (time start, length ride, time ride), I can't open the ride. The ride is not syncing to Garmin Connect nor Strava. Manually uploading to Strava is not working due to an error.

I made several successful rides with my new Garmin before. The only thing different this time was the 10 min. intermezzo with my friend. I read in the manual that Auto Sleep works after 5 minutes. Could there be a relation? Now I disabled Auto Sleep and see how it goes. I still have Auto Pause enabled (which did not give any issues in my previous rides).

Anyone else with the same issue? Thanks.

hi, sorry to hear about your mishap

run your file through Fit File Tool's section remover (without actual removing)

import this fit file manual from within Garmin Connect Web

    when this fails

with your consent we can have a look at your file with FitFileRepairTool

zip the fit file and upload here in the forum, or provide a link to it on a cloud storage

    happy & safe sporting

Thanks. Unfortunately nothing works. Can't import, zip, nor transfer. The file is only 45kb. I'm afraid my Garmin went into auto sleep and that I've should manually turn it on again before resuming the ride and saving. You'd think that the file at least contained the info until it went into sleep. I disabled autosleep now and will see on my next ride how things are going. Will run Strava on my phone as a backup... Thanks again!
