New Edge 1030 Public Beta 9.48 Now Available

A new Beta software (9.48) for the Edge 1030 has been released. Full change log, instructions, and software for installing the beta can be found Here.

  • For any issues that you encounter please fill out the form included in the download and attach it to an email to [email protected]. Please note that you may not get a response to the email unless we need more information on the issue you report.
  • Although this software is believed to be reliable, it has not yet been released for production and should be used at your own risk.

(Note: Please include a copy of your debugging folder in your response email if you experience any issues)

Changes made from version 9.44 to 9.48:

  • Fixed an issue with sensor connectivity.
  • Added diagnostics to help track down an issue where the device can lock up.

    What about the speed? Since the last stable version the betas are more and more slow. 9.44 freeze until communicate to network (as far as I see). I reported performance issue but never got any answer nor a faster firmware.

    Same here. They didn’t put an A team on this for sure.

    Garmin-mathiew, let's go PLEASE get us out of the Beta cycle from hell. It has been dragging forever. 9.48 is a piece of junk and the issues are known now. It is unacceptably slower than 9.10, it looses sensor connections all the time. These are major basic functionality flaws that need addressing ASAP in a proper release. Get it done.

    During today's rides several times I had news about the disconnection of the radar sensor and mobile.

    So, I got a complete lockup of the Edge during the last indoor training session. It just froze and didn't react to any input, then after 20 sec. it just restarted. Tried to continue the training but the connection between indoor trainer and edge was somehow disturbed, as there was no change in power anymore (i train using ERG mode)

    Stopped the session and started a new one, this time all went well.

    Wasn't Garmin supposed to fix the lockup issue? Never had this problem before. Anyway, I'll upload diagnostic to them if it helps.

    Yesterday did a full reset on 1030 - everything. Then installed 9.48... Today lost both HR and Varia Radar... 9.10 was way better from connectivity point of view. Happy to supply any FIT file needed.

    Another total ***-up with Livetrack and 9.48 this morning. I got the livetrack started notification when I started the ride, but when I look at the livetrack just before terminating the activity at the end of the ride, all I see is a ruler-straight line from the start to the 56km point (which in a straight line is only about 15km from the start point), another ruler-straight line from there to the 73km point, and only for the last few km of the ride does it show what was actually ridden.

    GCM is v4.30 on a Pixel 4.

    the only problem is the connection in bt with the xiaomi redmi note smartphone. Often it doesn't connect and I have to redo the association
