  • Although this software is believed to be reliable, it has not yet been released for production and should be used at your own risk.

(Note: Please include a copy of your debugging folder in your response email if you experience any issues)

Changes made from version 9.44 to 9.48:

  • Fixed an issue with sensor connectivity.
  • Added diagnostics to help track down an issue where the device can lock up.
  • Loaded the beta 9.48 all fine, went out for a ride all sensors connected fine and stayed connected, had no problems while navigating a route, and it uploaded fine after I ended the ride

  • I just want to report that I did my first ride with 9.48 today. Connections drops were happening like never before ! At least half a dozen times during the work I get warning that Di2 and Garmin Radar reconnected, which means they also disconnected. I assume the other sensors disconnected as well, but I get no warning for those. So although the change notes says "Fixed an issue with sensor connectivity" that is absolutely NOT fixed, not even close.

The same here. Also the dashboard/widget with the settings menu for my Varia RTL510 is no longer displayed. When navigating there is a bug in projecting the correct data about the next turning. These bugs remain present after updating to Beta 9.48 and after hard resetting and reconfiguring the device. When returning to the last stable firmware, everything was fine.

  • Ho boy, they are spiralling out of control. I think this firmware caught the Covid-19

  • Hi

I have since 2 month a Specialized E-Moutainbike. The bike has 3 sensors.

    Connecting to:

    • Speed and Cadence Sensor -> everytime OK
    • Power Sensor -> everytime OK
    • E-Bike Sensor - NOK

I did try different boot and setup scenarios, but there is no workaround or regular process to get the E-Bike Sensor connected. If I have a lucky day, I get it connected, but just once.

I can send more details, if needed.

  • The sensor issue we talk about is erratic and short disconnects that happen during a ride. This is not normal. However for you eBike the fact that it does not connect is a different problem. Is your Specialized iBike supported by Garmin ? I think specialized does not use a standard system (like Bosh, Shimano, etc) but something developed in-house. Does Specialized claim it can connect to a Edge ? Or do they push their own bike computers to use with it ? I think you need to make sure this combo is supported by both companies. Anyhow this may not be a bug but simply a non-supported product.

  • So If I read this document, this should be supported by both companies... https://ibd.specialized.com/media/whatsnew/Levo_ConnectIQ_Anleitung_Sept16.pdf or at least from Specialized.

  • If that's your bike then I think so, it should work. You don't have the Bontrager branded Edge but a regular Garmin edge right ?

  • I have a regular Garmin Edge 1030. Also my Forerunner 945 or the Forerunner 935 from my wife cannot find the E-Bike sensor....I will check with the bike dealer. Thanks a lot.

  • Just a litte update. I found out, that you can use ANT+ also with the Android Samsung Smartphones and did some test with a Samsung Galaxy S20 and the IPSensorMan App.

There I can see, that the that the sensors has different Connection quality:

    • Speed and Cadence Sensor -> everytime 100%
    • Power Sensor -> everytime 100%
    • E-Bike Sensor - between 70 to 80%....

I was also looking around the bike to get a better quality...But didn't found it. This also explains, why I got rare a connection to the E-Bike sensor.

So this is for my an indicator, that there is something wrong with the E-Bike sensor. definitly.
