Today I was following a route on my device and found the road I was travelling on was blocked.
I had to turn around and find a different way.
Is there a rerouting option on this device?
My motorcycle Garmin device has a re-route option.
Thanks

There is one. It is call route recalculation, it is one of the options. If active it triggers automatically when you get off-course. It will the ask you if you want to recalculate, say yes if you want it. However my experience with it is rather frustrating because it doies stupide things. Sometimes it will compute a completely different route to the end of the course, rather than just navigate around the blockage. Other time it would not reroute long enough and end up having to reroute a bunch of times before making it. And then when I get back on course it does not always recognize that fact and keep rerouting me. This may happen if you get back to course further down than it had figured - it just cannot backtrack then. When that happens you need to stop the course and restart it (not the activity, only the course TBT). It is a much harder feature to make work than it may seem. So don't count on it too much. Personally I have it turned off. I jus zoom-out the map and figure things out myself.
When re-route kicks in - it will delete your original loaded route and produce a new route to your destination - if it happens to go over your original course - it was just pure luck or there wasn't any other alternative for the algorithm to choose. The only way to return to your loaded route is to re-load your route again and get the unit to take u to your loaded route (not to the start).

This isn't the case for the 1030/1030+ (and, probably, other newer units). (It was the case for older units and, since it wasn't what people expected, it was confusing).
The rerouting seems to work pretty well and as people expect (rerouting back to the course).
