How to display % LTHR?

Hi everybody, I use to track my FTP based on the %FTP and the 1030 has a specific display option for that.  But, regardind HR, I can´t find the %LTHR option to be displayed. I see that the HR zones might be measured considering the %LTHR. It means the 1030 knows this information, but I can´t find how it can be displayed. I need to know in real time the actual % LTHR, like this: LTHR = 97%, 103% and so on...

  • You can display de zone. And it will do so with a decimal number. So zone 2.0 2.4 4.5 etc. This gives you a pretty accurate metric that is updated in real time. If you zones are based on LTH you can do the math, figure what zone number correspond to that LTH and work with that. This is probably even more readable and meaningful as a metric to follow. Cheers.

Thank you very much, Martin. I already did this way you told. Problem is that I don´t train based on zones, but based on Coogan´s worksheets, that takes in consideration the % on LTHR. Wouldn´t it be possible to ask Garmin to include this display option in the next update? Even Bryton GPS has this option...

  • You can always ask but it is not likely they will listen. On the other hand it is trivial to use the zone data field that I am telling you about as a proxy for %LTHR, there is a one-to one correspondance between them if you set your HR zones correctly, that is based on LTHR. If I were you I would learn how to use what is there. Tons of people do Coogan workouts with the Edge as it is, you just need to adapt your ways a little. But it is up to you.
