While you can do that from the Garmin watches, it can not be done from the Edge devices.

No. Thanks god. This would be very hazardous to do while riding. In most jurisdictions wearing headphones is illegal while riding. Don't expect it to ever happen.

Great idea.  I'd llike this feature, too.  I'd switch to a device that had these controls.  No less safe than any other feature I use on the garmin head unit during a ride.

Of course it is more dangerous.  How can you state something like that. And wearing headphone while riding is illegal in most civilized places. 

I would disagree...It's not dangerous if you use bone conduction, open ear headphones like AfterShokz.  You can still hear everything going on around you.

JudoChoke is right. I was as anti headphones as a guy could be but bone conduction ones do not isolate you from the outside world.
