last activity gone

So the files are reappearing in the Activities folder? 

If you have Physio True-up on then you will still see rides under the ride history on the Edge as the unit contains summary data for rides in the Summary folder.

yes indded I had Pysio True up on yesterday, however by reading other post I had put it OFF.

Unfortunately without result as activities indeed re-appear.

in addition:

have removed the sd card and put in an empty one.

checked internal memory on activities and  summary, which are empty.

when putting on the device activities appear.

it must be somewhere in the internal memory. but what can it be?

now, removing rides on the device doesn't help: rides come back.

removing activity total doesn't work: these are still in the history

I once had a problem somewhat similar to this when working on a friend's Edge 705. No matter what I did, the files kept reappearing. I never figured out exactly why this was happening but the owner said he thought the problem started when he used a Apple Mac to transfer some files. I did look at the hidden folders and files and found the Mac had placed a hidden trash folder on the Garmin and I could not delete it using a Windows PC. I suppose it could be deleted on a Mac. Are you using a Mac?

Let me ask you again:
There are no activity-fit files at first - neither on the SD card in /Activities nor on the device in /Activities.
But after switching on you will see hundreds of activities in the history. These files show the date. Only the date or also an additional symbol (bicycle)?

After you turn off the device and connect it to the PC - are the folders /Activities on the SD card or on the device itself now filled with files or still empty?

to start with

activities were as per my setting recorded on sd card no activities on internal memory.

after deleting these from sd card and switching on the device they are restored on the sd card again.

after a activity I save it and it appears on Garmin Connect and Strava

after switching of and later again on: the activity is gone

on the sd card: files stored except for the last one (of course)

that's the case: how comes the history back on the sd card and cannot be deleted?

What happens if you start your Edge without SD-card? (No SD card needed for running the device). Just out of curiosity...

I think the files in /Garmin/Debugging/Backup can be deleted (or moved to PC) without doing any harm.

all seems ok when the sd card has been removed.
