Suddenly got syncing problems

Had my first 2020 workout today. Everything was as usual and did a hard interval workout. But after my workout edge wont sync the session. Impossible to sync todays data to garmin connect.

Tried to remove and pair again on my phone (iphone xs), reinstalled GC, restarted phone and edge lots of time. No help. And now I can see that restitution time has disappeared from my session on edge. Still shows latest workout with VO2, load, etc. 

Hawe also tried to sync with garmin express to a PC with cable. Telling me sync successfull but no workout data in connect. Latest was 31.12.2019 and NO changes to phone or edge. Strange. Any suggestions? Servers down?

  • You can try a manual upload, it's in History.  When you see the event in history, press the settings button on the bottom right, it'll show you (or should) an option to upload.  I've had to do this more often recently

  • Thank you for answering. I was hoping for a way to manual upload the activity, but didnt find out how. Then, after your reply I tried again. But on this last activity there is no option to press the "three lines" (as on the other activities) there is only a garbage bin to press. So maybe there is something wrong with the recording done by edge. So now I have two different training status when I look in GC. One for fenix and one for edge. They dont sync that either. Strange thing is that fenix shows me last activity in widget for that but trainingstatus is not synced to it. Will try another workout today and test again.

    edge doesnt save activity and doesnt sync to connect 
    cant even find the ride in history on the device 

  • Going to do a workout later today. Will tell you how it goes and if the problem still exist.

  • Make sure the mobile app is actually running.  Also try the Sync function from GCM as it sounds like the device is not making a connection to GCM

  • solution found :) 
    go outside and start a dummy ride and leave the unit with good satelite wiew for 10-15 min then it works again 
    seems to be an issue because of wrong date and time 

  • That can be a solution, yes! Since it started in the new year and I only do indoor biking at the moment, that can for sure be a problem. Will try!

  • Common bug in the device losing time when on indoor workouts. Supposed to be a fix coming for this in a future release. 

  • Today my edge synced as normal (almost, didn't upload to Strava)  but training load does not equal.Training load on edge is much higher due to the non synced workout yesterday. Physio true-up is activated on both, edge and fenix but still big difference. AND another strange problem, edge does not connect using Connect IQ. Have been like that for a while.
