maps wiped out after installing 2019.20

After installing the 2019.20 version of maps, I noticed that they have been wiped out from the 1030. The map screen shows a blue line of my course on a white background. The name of the street on top of the screen is correctly displayed.

The main software is up to date: 9.10.

I reinstalled the maps a couple of times but it did not work.

Any suggestion?

Have you checked if the new maps are enabled?

i hv the same issue, i was using an APAC unit, but after installing the firmware to 9.10, only US maps available

Did you do the update on a mac computer or windows? Do you have the latest version of Garmin Express?

I did the update via a Mac, didn’t check if the garmin express is the latest version, a good reminder, I will check it when I am home.

By the way, just called garmin Hong Kong, their reply is my unit is registered as an English unit which only preloaded US And CA maps... strange that a unit sold in Asia only preload maps of US.

There was a bug in Garmin Express for mac that caused maps disappearing after update. See this thread:

SOLVED BY SUPPORT!

thank you all for the replies and suggestions,

I ended up chatting with US Support, altough I live in Lugano, Switzerland). They were very helpful and quickly solved the issue. In brief, they made me erase some map files, by connecting the device to my Mac, and then reinstall the maps. Worked perfectly. So.. I'm out riding.

I must say that Garmin software is far from being perfect, but support has worked very well, at least in this case.

That could be a plus since you would get firmware updates sooner.... and you can always get the maps you want and add them to your Edge
