Not receiving texts on Garmin 1030 with connection from iPhone XI

I have a Garmin 1030 running 9.0 and an iPhone XI running iOS 13.2. After theGarmin firmware upgrade to 9.0 I can now connect my iPhone to my 1030. If someone calls me I get a message on my 1030. However I do not get any messages when I am sent texts. There is nothing in the missed messages either. Please help?

  • I'm not very knowledgeable about trouble shooting this type of problem but have you checked the phone settings on your 1030? Go to connected features/phone/smart notifications and make sure both phone and text messages are turned on.

    I also have this problem.  This feature used to work flawlessly for me until several months ago.  All the app and phone settings are correct.

    Phone: iPhone 7, IOS 13.4.1

    Garmin: Version 10

    What IS interesting is that messages from social apps like WhatsApp work fine as do other apps like my Arlo motion camera notifications.  Cell phone calls are displayed fine as well.  Only text messages no longer work.  Very frustrating as this is THE feature I want most.

    Since posting this I have found that if before each ride I turn off the Bluetooth on my iPhone, then turn it back on again. Once the phone has a Bluetooth connection to my Garmin 1030 I then launch Garmin Connect on my iPhone. After that I get all the texts.  If I ever forget it then doesn't work.
