It‘s taking now more than 1 hour for a restart... anyone else facing this issue? Anything I can do?

I did a hard reset with the power button at least 15 times, of which maybe 3 times it booted successfully.
Mine updated today just before a ride. Update appeared to go ok. Once riding, though, it kept shutting off. I would power it back up and unpause the ride and within minutes it would turn off again...WTH…
My 1030 is behaving exactly like that! I have a two-day A-race this weekend and this is very upsetting...I am sick of Edge bugs! I would happily trade functions and features for stability.
Yep. Have you done the workaround yet?
Reassign the hex field to anything else.
power down garmin
start workout on the humon iOS app as you usually do
power on the garmin, reassign the field to the hex. It’ll work.

I have the same problem but I'm pretty sure it's a phone problem (probably Android power saving feature that shuts down the connection).
The Garmin shutting down should have nothing to do with the phone connection though. Mine was totally random as to when it would shut down and it literally shut down...stopped the ride and everything. Very annoying.
I installed 9.0 after performing a factory reset which deletes all data and settings. It seems to work fine after that. Went on a 5hr ride, no issues.
Agreed. There is always some hesitation on my part to act when my Garmin alerts me to update my firmware.
