I don't know what additional features a new unit could provide. Probably a faster CPU would be beneficial but other than that possibility, I don't see a new model being introduced for a year or more.
Agree that we are unlikely to see this for another year, if Garmin were releasing something new imminently they wouldn't' have brought all the new features from the 530/830 to the 1030
Some nice ideas in your wish list but wish lists can go on forever. Everytime a new feature is added, a little bit more of the processor is used and the device also becomes more and more complicated. What it does now has worked out very well for me but I can understand how others want more. It may be reaching the point of a new product coming out just so the company has a new product to offer.
Perhaps some day the Garmin will also pedal our bikes for us.
I work at a shop and talked to our Garmin Rep. My best buddies son also works for Garmin in Kansas city. Both of them said the same thing to me in the last 2 weeks. New 1040 in March. No big changes other than the processor that is in the 830/530.
I have a 820 and want to replace it but didn’t want to go with the 1030 if a new model was released soon after. Thanks Boozeman for that intel. I will wait till spring.
