Read that roll-out was at 100% but I still haven't seen it. Tried synching on iphone and laptop and Garmin saying that software is up to date at v7.5. Anyone else not received it yet or any advice on how to proceed?

Go here https://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=12819
Open the zip file and copy the file called GUPDATE-800.GCD on to your computer and rename the file GUPDATE.GCD
This file needs to be put on to your garmin in the garmin folder alongside all the maps there.
(If you simply put the file already named GUPDATE.GCD in the same place you will get the 8.06 beta update.)
Next time you turn on your garmin it will update
Hi, many thanks for your prompt response. Did exactly as you suggest which seems entirely logical but no difference when I restart the 1030, it still shows v7.5 and no updates available. Checked the Garmin on my computer and I can see the file there. Totally bemused.
Double check the file is named exactly as above. Ie gupdate. gcd It also must be in the garmin folder
Yeah, thanks. Checked the name and its in the Garmin folder, just doesn't seem to execute. Totally fed up with Garmin its all so flakey. Update should have been pushed to the device by now and all I should do is accept it. Clearly something on the device preventing this file from running,
Really appreciate your help though, its Wahoo Bolt for me in the future.
Just thinking, do you think its becauuse I am still on 7.5 that I cant jump to 8?
You can skip intermediate releases. Could it be that you have a regional unit as that is still on build 7.50.
Hi, yes, I bought it in Singapore when I worked there so its an APAC model. Maybe I just need to wait on Garmin rolling out to APAC. Read that roll-out was 100% though so that is confusing. Still would have thought that the manual upload as per Peteonbike's help would have worked.
Thanks for pointing that out though.
The regional units have their own part number and separate/different software. They are localized for those markets and will not accept the general software release. Typically the regional units lag about 1-2 months behind in taking some of the changes from the general release.
Thanks, appreciate you taking the time to answer. Understand but 1-2 months seems absurd. Anyway, at least I see whats happening even if it's frustrating.
That date range is from what I have observed in the past. It could well be quicker.
