  • Hi Nik. Thanks for trying this. That's very strange all the apps I've tried have the same delays.

How long was the course you downloaded? & was the source file a GPX or FIT.?

Also out of interest what version of GCM is installed on your phone?

The course I downloaded was ~80km and in GPX format, created on the phone using Locus. GCM is 4.23.1, and phone is a Pixel 2 running Android 10.

  • Thanks for the information. I'm using the same GCM version though on an older phone with android 7.0. A GPX file of the same length created in RideWithGPS is taking 3 minutes to download to my Edge.

There is certainly something quite bizarre happening with bluetooth comms on my Edge with these beta builds. My RideWithGPS IQ app stalls at the initial 'Loading' splash screen when launched and doesn't progress any further.
However if I turn Bluetooth off on my phone then launch the RideWithGPS app; I get a 'Waiting for phone connection'  splash screen message as is normal. Then when I turn Bluetooth back on & the Edge establishes a connection the app immediately displays the menus, which allows me to select & download routes. ie. is working normally albeit downloading the routes much slower than it used to.
If I then exit the RideWithGPS app & relaunch it; the app stalls at the initial 'Loading' splash screen again and doesn't progress any further. Even if I turn Bluetooth on my phone off then back on again whilst the 'Loading' screen is displayed it still won't progress.

I've tried removing & reinstalling the apps, unpairing, deleting & adding the Edge from GCM & Phone Bluetooth. I've even tried pairing the Edge with my tablet instead of the phone. With the same delays & app responses as previously seen.

Unless anyone has any other suggestions/solutions I might have to bite the bullet, backup my settings & master reset the Edge to see if that solves it

  • didn't happen though ...
