I got the iPhone 11 Pro Max to pair with the Edge 1030 firmware 8

This is some crazy stuff we have to do to get it to work. Here's what I did.

Standard stuff like removing previous connections, etc. Fresh slate. Rebooted Edge 1030 and phone.

Renamed my phone

Did the usual process, but added a new device by browsing all compatible products, to the Edge 1030

Started the pairing normally, but when it got to the passkey acceptance part, I accepted on the Edge and the iPhone simultaneously.

It started setting up the device, then the iOS asked me to pair again, looked like a system message not from GC, and I accepted.

Success! It said complete. Choose your ride types, etc.

But no device shown in Garmin Connect. WTF

Did the whole thing all over again, removing etc. Interestingly when I went to remove the Edge 1030 from BT iOS listing, there were 3 instances.

Rebooted phone rebooted garmin.

Repeated the same exact process, the same thing happened, but this time I ended up with the 1030 in GC, and all the IQ fields that rely on an internet connection work.

PS I did this with wifi off, and outside my house, swearing on my porch like a crazy person.
