RouteCourse and ridewithgps apps on the 1030

with the 1030 connected to a iPhone, the RouteCourse app does not work on the 1030.the same problem occurs with the “ridewithgps” app on the Edge, it gives me the ‘error 0’ message instead of the pairing code. I even deleted and reloaded the Garmin Connect and IQ app on the iPhone. rings a bell somewhere ?

I have the same problems with two athers app (Locus in-fit and gimporter). But this problem has already taken several versions of Garmin Connect. The latest functional version is 4.19

Those apps originally used 'localhost' to connect to the phone companion apps via GCM. However localhost connection was blocked in a GCM update. It was sort of fixed in GCM Android version 4.22 but only to use 127.0.0.1. Instead of localhost.

There's a whole thread about it on the CIQ developer forum

The gimporter and locus ciq apps were updated to account for this

So make sure you have at least GCM 4.22 installed & the latest version of the ciq apps/companion apps installed

Also if you have WiFi enabled on your edge these apps won't work so you need to disable WiFi when you want to use the apps
