Ordnance Survey maps no longer working on Edge 1030

I installed the latest update (7.87) on my edge 1030 and now the UK Ordnance Survey mapping is not working.  I have tried disabling and re-enabling, reset the device - still no luck.  Any ideas as to how I could resolve this?  Any help would be much appreciated.

  • After a lot of backwards and forwards with Garmin support the conclusion is the SD card is corrupted. Garmin are denying it is anything to do with the update.  Given I used the map on the Edge 1030 to create a route 10 minutes before the update and they were working fine it seems clear the firmward update corrupted the card.

Garmin have kindly suggested I buy the maps again at full price £345.  Given if the same happened again I would get no help from Garmin that is no going to happen.  I am sad to say that I will be moving away from Garmin after years of using many of their products.  I never joined in the criticism of Garmin when the software has been buggy but I am disgusted by how I have been treated.

The main reason for posting is as a warning to others - make sure you remove any external SD card based mapping before you update firmware because if it goes wrong you are on your own.

    Good but Garmin, hello Wahoo.

JerseyBiker I have exactly the same experience with my SD card being wiped by an update and Garmin's poor response. I have spent 1000's on Garmin products over the years and this is how they treat valuable customers. Maybe time for a change here too.
