New Edge 1030 Public Beta 7.87 Now Available

A new Beta software for the Edge 1030 has been released. Full change log, instructions, and software for installing the beta can be found here.

For any issues that you encounter please fill out the form included in the download and attach it to an email to [email protected]. Please note that you may not get a response to the email unless we need more information on the issue you report.
Although this software is believed to be reliable, it has not yet been released for production and should be used at your own risk.

Changes made from version 7.85 to 7.87:

Fixed an issue where activity profiles could be lost during a software upgrade
Fixed crashes that could occur during a workout when transitioning steps
Fixed issue where trying to discard an activity while sitting on the elevation page would cause the activity to be retained
Fixed the initialization of the widget management feature if a user already had a Virb or Light paired
Fixed several crashes caused by WiFi operation
Fixed auto-brightness responsiveness
Updated the My Stats Training Status pages to better fill the screen
Improved device stability

It is still there, look under your profile > GPS-mode

First 80km ride with 7.87. No problems what soever. All works fine. TBT, power, navigation, LiveTrack etc.

Since 7.85 and again with 7.87 on my Edge 1030 each time my phone connect or disconnect to my Edge device I get an iOS notification it did that. This notification is related to the Find my Edge feature that has been added. This is most annoying and not useful. As I move around the house if my Edge is charging these notifications keeps coming although I am not even using it. There must be a way to turn this off. If one day I want to use Find my Edge I will reach for it in the app, I don't need those notifications to use the feature. Please remove the notifications and add a switch in the GCM app so we can turn them off.

The update from, 7.85 to 7.87 seems to have been a trouble free process.

I have spotted a bug relating to navigating 'Back to Start', which was also in 7.85

If you choose 'Current Track' the route is calculated and the route is displayed on the map at an appropriate zoom level that shows the entire route. However if you choose 'Most Direct Route' the route is calculated but the map displayed zooms in to an extremely small '5m' scale displaying your start point, which will be the destination & you have to zoom out some way to see the route.

What f/w are you running at the moment? Beta 7.87?

If so do you connect your edge to a computer to sync with Garmin Express?

Installed 7.87. Works fine, but still not solved the issue of 100% synced trining plan. It seems that first sync is fine, but if I do any corrections in the plan at Garmin Connect, those changes are not reflected in the Training Plan.

I can certainly see that the notification would be annoying when the 1030 is charging but, isn't the solution to not have GCM running when the 1030 is charging?

First Ride with 7.87. evrything is fine and working: udgrade, navigation, Tbt, Bluetooth, ...
Thank's Garmin for the new features and the fix of previous bugs

It's annoying yes ! Solution I found is to turn off the edge while charging, and it charges quicker
