My Garmin Edge 1030 is locked in “Loading courses, workouts, and locations”. Tried to connect the device to my computer but it would not recognize the device. What should I do?

Force to Mass Storage option above - plugging into laptop while holding fown lap/reset for 30 second - then deleting all files in \Garmin\New Files folder resolved this isssu for me. Thanks so much ted_shwartz.

Many files in memory / microSD can also make the boot a little slower than usual. I have three maps, one with an elevation profile, the other with georeferenced images, countless recorded courses, many POIs and other activities. So, wait a little while it starts.

I have the issue discussed here, just an additional problem. when I delete the file in 'New Files' they just reappear somehow and the unit locks up on reboot again. any ideas?
