Great document to describe the functionality.
Been using the 7.85 beta on a 6 day trip in Pyrenees and the ClimbPro worked amazingly well!! On rainy foggy days over Tourmalet it kept me sane knowing how far and how steep the long long climb was. Great work by Garmin on this one!
One very small observation, on one route we were following we started a col / climb but diverted to a different road. The navigation eventually re-routed but ClimbPro just paused on the original climb. Maybe the ClimbPro for that climb should have cancelled and exited after the re-route?
ClimbPro should have canceled the current climb once you went off. Sounds like a bug.
Would be great if i create a route on the Edge 1030 itself thar Climbpro would work. I knd of like it so far that i miss it when i go for a d-tour.
first check on V8.06 ==> Climb Pro doesn't work for round-trip >100km. If you save the round-trip as course and reload it...then it's working.
I've sent the "Feedback Reporting Form" with the bug to GARMIN

To avoid basecamp and connecting your Edge to the computer, you could have imported the GPX to Garmin Connect, save as a course, then use the mobile app to send to the Edge. The Connect import would have added the elevation information as well.
Currently the newer Edge units do not allow the VP to be disabled. The only work around is to set the VP speed either very high or very low so that it is quickly out of range.
Yup , in the past I remember on Edge 810 that there was an functionality to turn off VP for all courses
Wonder why Garmin did not implement this to newest devices
