Slow boot

When I got the 1030 2 weeks ago, the boot was about 20 seconds, maybe a bit longer. Now it’s a painful 2 minutes. My 1000 is about 12 seconds.

Any thoughts on how to speed this up .

It sounds like the EPO data might be out of date or corrupt.

Look in the Garmin\GPS folder. What is the date for the EPO.BIN file? If it more than a few days old try deleting it and then syncing the Edge using Garmin Express or Garmin Connect Mobile. This will pull down an updated EPO file.

The EPO.BIN file was dated to today, alas.

Developed that the 1030 takes a LOOOONG time to boot if there's a map on a SIM card. Take away the SIM card and boot is about 13 seconds

Was having the same problem with recent slow load.... found another post that said delete files in GARMIN\NEWFILES ... deleted now

Recently having the same problem... loading up 3-4min ... found another post and it said delete files in GARMIN\NEWFILES ... loading much quicker again ... within 30sec

Don't know if this causes other hassles or what these files are (were.FIT ) !!

I have the same problem after update my Edge 1030 to version firmware 13.40.

Start up over 4 minutes.

Any solution please?
