Lost all connection ability

Yesterday I lost all ability to connect any sensor to my edge 1030. Not sure it is related to the recent update of software to the latest version.

Cannot connect to Radar Light nor Cadence or speed sensor. Occasionally it finds the hart rate sensor but then hart rate locks in screen after a few minutes. Believe all are Ant+ except for hart rate sensor which is Bluetooth.

Also lost ability to connect to phone via BT or Wifi. Cannot upload rides wireless anymore

When connected to PC it uploads rides no problem.

Have rebooted several times but no results. Have not gone to factory settings yet.

Anyone an idea what is going on ? I basically have now a very expensive GPS without any additional cycling functionality

Thanks !

  • I am having a similr issue with my 1030.

During a ride I loose conectivity to my HR and pedals, all fields going to zero.

I pause the GPS, turn it off, wait a few seconds, turn it on and resume the ride and the values are back.

This is happening without a pattern that I have been undable to identify on some on my rides.

I believe there is a bug on the current firmware of the 1030 related to signals reception, except the GPS signal which is not affected.

  • This could also happen with the older firmware versions.
To me, a reliable "solution" to this problem was removing the Edge 1030 from Garmin Connect, and then pairing it again.  (to be fair, I only had the problem that it could not find the phone; sensors were working.)
