Over the years I had become accustomed to by Garmin Edge units beeping for a turn. That seemed to stop sometime ago. What should I be doing that I get the beeps again
FYI - My unit beeps when powering on, but not on routes. My routes are created either of RWGPS and exported as .fit files to the Edge, OR they are generated on the Edge by navigating to a known location
I have a Garmin Edge 1030, software version 7.50, and "Tones" are enabled

Well that's me stumped then.
With Turn Guidance & Tones enabled you should get the beeps, unless the beep is broken. Do you get any sounds when you press any of the buttons or turn the edge on/off ?
I have always been disappointed with the lack of tone alerts, or so I believed. I have now modified my mount to redirect the tone towards me in the riding position. Drilled out the mount weatherproof labyrinth and inserted a 8mm plastic tube to divert the audio tone around, finished off with a modified nozzle from a sealant cartridge. It works brilliantly, the tones were there all the time, the problem is the poor design of the mount.
