Can't correctly identify a 40Km record in 1 hour.

Hi all,

I'm changing weird e-mails with Garmin Support regarding this and I can't have their help.

It seems they don't understand what I'm asking and reply to me with medals (ensigns and that is working correctly)

At 8th of September 2018 I've ride my bike on a road competition 2 hour resistance.

During this activity my speed average was 40,4Km/h and my best hour average was 40,8 Km/h (checked with TrainingPeaks).

The Garmin Connect app is not recognising this speed as a record.

Is recognising the speed average of all the 2 hours, but when I try to force it to the 40Km record it says 20,8 Km/h average... it obviously dividing the average 40,4 with the 1h55m26s that I've ride.

Can anyone help me with this?

Is there anyway I can force the correct speed record and not this ridiculous value that the app is making?

  • How much elevation drop was there over the 40 KM? I believe that there is a test to exclude records on a downhill course.

    Hello Aweatherall,

    it had 717m

  • Make sense to not have record on downhill

From Personal Records page you can delete the one that it is selected by Garmin ,

Then go to the activity that you think that was the fasted and from wheel on the right click on "Set an PR"

    On my page looks good

    Hello Krazyeone,

    That should work... yes.

But if you check my first image, when I do that, the software assumes that I've made 40Km in the total time of the activity, and so, it will divide it by the total amount of time.

In this case I know that I've made 1h55m26s with 40,4 Km/h average

I also know (checking on TrainingPeaks) that my best average in one hour was 40,8 Km/h

The Garmin Connect assumes that 40Km made in 1h55m26s gives an average of 20,8 Km/h

It's a bug I know but the issue here is that no one at Garmin is reaching my words and images and with Garmin Connect older versions worked fine...

  • Aha I understand , who knows, try to delete and assign again PR , maybe that will work

    Hi,

    Nope!

It must be a software bug... I'm sure anyone who delete the account and try to upload the same activity, will not be able to have the same PR 40Km as it had with older versions of Garmin Connect.

    Hope they fixe it...

If you have a second account, try to upload the same fit (where you had your record) and see if will not do the error I'm saying...
