7.50 feedback

I traveled with 7.50 about 200 km and I do not see any problems.

SInce updating to 7.5 I am no longer able to upload ride files, either automatically or manually.  Even when I plug the Garmin into my computer via USB the computer does not see the file. I am trying to work this out now with Garmin support.

I have problems with autouploading as well, and manual uploading from the list. The way I have to do it is simply press the sleep button to get the device in sleepmode and then press it again to wake it up. As soon as the device is back on the trip is successfully autouploaded. I think it started with 7.5

I have had no issues uploading with 7.5. I save the ride and a few minutes later I get a notice on the Iphone that the ride has been uploaded. I have read that Android phones are having issues.

Anyone know if its easy to downgrade?

Just my experience on firmware 7.50:

• TBT not working when navigating a route
• Screen header frozen and displays information from start of ride all the time
• Sharp bend warnings not working at all
• Speed sensor - major issues in getting this to connect to the Edge1030 (All other sensors fine - Power/Varia Radar/HRM)
• Uploading files at end of ride - the only way I can get a file to upload is by shutting down the Edge1030 fully, then when I restart it the ride uploads
• Screen becomes unresponsive, text notifications come through and normally I can just tap/swipe them away, not any longer on 7.50, they stay in view for about 30 seconds no matter what I do.
• Livetrack - well what can I say, not a 7.50 issue as it's always been rubbish.

Apart from the above, loving the Edge1030, best £500 I ever spent on a Garmin device.  (Sarcasm delivered by the bucket load)

Thanks, mmmm - might give it a miss then! I mainly use it for TBT navigation.

I really don't know how a potentially amazing device can fall so short.

The majority of 1030 owners do not have the problems of Amb67. I don't have a clue why some have problems while others do not. All I can say is that there are six of us in our club who have 1030's and they work fine with the exception of one with Android phone occasional disconnects. Navigation works fine for me in 7.50.

Just did a 201km/12hr trip last saturday and 161km trip sunday. All working fine with 7.50. No crashes. TBT, sharp bend warning, upload etc all working fine. After the 201km triip, battery was as 47%. Very nice.
