1030 stopped accurately reporting battery level on a 400k brevet

Hello

My 1030 stopped accurately reporting battery level. For the first 8 hours of the ride the unit reported 100% charge. It was only after I plugged in a USB battery to recharge it that it showed the battery was at 50 something percent.

Anyone else having a problem with inaccurate battery reporting

Thanks

Mine has done that a few times to me now, but not just for one ride. I had to move to an indoor trainer when our area was hit with thunderstorms day after day. It kept saying 100% for nearly a week. I thought that odd, but my rides were short, only about 1-1.5 hours a day. And since I was inside I assumed it was not using satellite data and so was saving on battery power. Then one day it said going into lower power mode as the battery was too low. But I had looked earlier and it was still reading 100%.

Then it worked for a the next ride and started showing accurately. That lasted a week or so. But then I suspect it was doing the same again as it started showing me 100% after my rides and I was pretty sure at least a few percent should have been used.

So it’s random. But it is happening.

  • It’s a suspend/resume bug that’s been around for ages. Workaround is to power the unit off. There are a few threads on it.
