Bluetooth issues with iOS 11

We are continuing to work with Apple regarding Bluetooth connection issues with our devices. We have released Garmin Connect Mobile version 4.1.5 that includes improvements for iOS connectivity. Please continue to post any feedback in this thread.
  • does not work - see other thread(s) with same problem. Group track doesn't work either. It's most probably BT_Edge1030 since that b***h does not connect - never does. Pairing anew with any of the given help (see above in this thread about "forgetting the device") does not help.
  • I cannot for the life of me get my 1030 to pair with my iphone 7. Sometimes if I re-pair them they will finally recognize each other, but most times they will not. Running ver 5.0 and ios ver 11.4. The #1, top priority function of the 1030, is to be able to reliably connect to our devices. Why is this such a never ending struggle with Garmin devices?

Yes absolutely ditto on this. Get to the end of my ride, doesn't upload automatically, like my 510 used to do without a hitch. Now I have to do the forget, disconnect, repair, forget, disconnect, repair, upload failed, red exclamation mark etc dance after every ride. FFS Garmin surely the basics of establishing and maintaining a connection with a phone is a high priority on the functionality of these very expensive head units!!!

Between this and the Vector 3 sh!tshow I am ready to ditch every Garmin product I own!!!

Still can't connect to my phone! I'm ready to return this expensive device and go back to my 1000. I've tried everything and nothing works.

Previously 100% Happy Edge 500 and the 510 user. Purchased my 1030 today. It turned off repeatedly when I was setting it up, might have been the auto-off when not actually running. Rode late today and it was OK, but gear combo reading bounced on and off repeatedly - frustrating. Now it will not turn on and stay on. Only way is a master reset, otherwise gets to the splash screen and turns itself off. Begin the setup process and eventually it turns off.
Have tried with BT to IOS 11 active, and have tried without. Have tried if with and without a bypass of WiFi conection. Some assistance from Garmin, or guidance from a wiser head would be good. $700 and does not work.
  • I'm having the same issue as everyone else, BT1030 won't stay connected to bluetooth. Have iphone 7+ ios 11.4 and 5.00 on 1030, it'll stay connected for a few minutes then disconnects. I am so tired of this! When I first got it things were ok, then there was an update and live track stopped working, then another update later and started working again. Now the live segments don't work! Have unpaired and repaired everything numerous times and still won't stay connected. I'm ready to throw this thing in the trash!!!
  • I have a 1030 ver 5.0 and an iphone 7 11.4. After sme difficulty I can get the phon and 1030 to pair, they say they are connected, but will not sync a ride. Completely frustrating! What is going on with Garmin? This seems to be the very most basic function to support, but they can't seem to solve it.
  • When paired with my phone I see two bluetooth connections to the same device. This seems strange, but this happens automatically when pairing. Is this normal, or part of the problem?ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1363005.jpg

    That is normal.

What’s not normal is the complete silence from Garmin on this issue. Half way through the year 2018 and we are experiencing technical issues with with a device and Bluetooth. Must be something major. Would be helpful to know that Garmin is actively trying to sort the issue out.
