Mapshare with 1030 Livetrack?

Anyone know if there is a way to use the mapshare feature of certain Garmin trackers to work with the 1030?

I'd love to be able to share my live track with friends, but having to share each individual live track URL is kind of a pain.
  • I think MapShare is a feature of the inReach devices that Garmin acquired a few years ago, and never took to other lines such as the Edge.

LiveTrack is similar but one ride at a time. If you see a need to send your LiveTrack to many people you could create a mailing list on a mail system of your choosing and setup a contact to that mailing list. That way all would get the message. But it remains a message every ride you make because the link changes every time. This would only allow you to reach more people than the Edge allows for.

Sure would be a nice feature (I've already logged an enhancement request).

Doh! You're absolutely correct ... I feel embarrassed, because I'm very familiar with mailing list's (I run several for the technical community I work in, IBM i).

I'm going to set that up for my next ride.
