your strange turn indications could be created if the course is created using a different map or if you click at intersections when creating the course. I always click between intersections so the blue bubble does not end-up on a side road for a tiny distance.
Altough using those still gives the right turn and directly after that a left turn to take a crossroad.
Ok thx for the reply!
Recently I updated the Garmin Southwest map and used the garmin routebuilder to create a small route here in the area. The problem remains.
Put the OSM Garmin maps of my region on the Edge - Same problem. It just keeps giving two instructions to go straight forward. Take a left - take a right turn to cross the street.
Even the audio warnings say that I need to take them.
Already tried a few dozen different routeplanners, they all keep doing the same annoying thing. But only if I can turn of that verry detailed map that would be awesome. Just a quick zoomed out map with the big white arrow to show where to go would be fine, let us say 200 m zoom or so....
I have been following this thread. I have the same issue as “gabby025”.
Can you please tell me the respond you got from Garmin support?
Thanks!
Today I also send a mail to Garmin support, still waiting for reply.
I did not get an answer to this question. They blame it on the roueplanner. It seems that I plot my routes badly.
So no fix atm...
When I go out cycling I do recognize the specific faulty map, so when I see it I know it straight forward, not optimal, but it works. :)
Hi gABBY025,
I have sent screenshots to Garmin - they opened a case, and I still wait for respond.
IT IS NOT A ROUTEPLANNER PROBLEM.
I have both an edge1000 and edge1030. Both with same maps and software versions.
If I plan a route on the edge unit (not thirdparty) then the edge1000 works perfect on autozoom, where as the edge1030 doesn't.
The problem only occurs when driving through roundabouts.
