Device not synching after update

Yesterday I connected my Garmin 1030 to my computer and Garmin Connect App suggested that I need some updates. I am not sure what it was, but now I cannot sync last activity anyhow. Previously it worked well with iPhone over Bluetooth, but now it does not. When I manually click sync on the iPhone, it starts synching and takes forever. In the process the phone gets hot and battery discharges in a few minutes. But it also does not sync when I do it with Garmin Connect on mac. I.e. - it shows that it synched, but I cannot see my latest activity on the web. How can I fix this? On Garmin, most my rides are marked as "Today" for some reasons. Even though my last ride was yesterday. There are a couple of rides that are marked as "Yesterday" and all the rest have some date on them. Is there something I need to do? I already turned off Garmin and turned it on, but this did not help.
  • I did a very touch interval training today. Could you please help me see my scores?
  • Yeah, it does not sync onthe phone at all. It says Synch failed and then, when I try synching, it says that "the device seems to be busy" Why is it busy? It's on and no activity is running.
  • That's pretty sad. I already spent more time on trying to synch than on the training session I did today. This is very time consuming. What else can I try? Maybe disconnect the phone and connect again?
  • I removed the device from the phone and added it back again. It said it synched, but last activity is not uploaded. :(
  • Just as I start thinking "it's finally working", Garmin punches me in the stomach again. :( Yeah... the device is bricked. :(
  • In this case, only the Garmin Express of the PC can be connected.
  • Same problem today. Everything looked right during the ride, but the device did not update today's training. I don't know what to do now. How can I recover last two days rides? And how to make it working again?
  • Suddenly the device decided to upgrade to 7.20 After update the history is back to normal, but two rides are gone. I guess they are gone for good. :(

In my experience the whole bluetooth connection with the phone is highly unreliable and unpredictable. Some poster here suggests that it is probably a hardware issue and all signs pointing at that direction because my edge 810 connects and syncs perfectly via bluetooth. Personally I don't even try it anymore with my 1030 and I don't connect my phone to the edge 1030. No big deal for me. I sync via WIFI and that works every time and fast (phone is disconnected). My advice is to sync via WIFI or with Garmin Express. This always works for me unless you have a corrupted fit file.

and when the device won't sync on Garmin Express either? Any advice?

Mine stopped totally from one day to another, all worked well earlier this week and suddenly yesterday it won't sync with my iphone (bluetooth) or laptop (mac) through USB. I've switched off/on and just about everything except uninstalling stuff.
