BUG: Navigation stuck on first instruction and distance to next always 0m

Found a similar post for Fenix 5(https://forums.garmin.com/forum/on-the-trail/wrist-worn/fenix-5x/1447580-unable-to-navigate), but it describes exactly what I'm experiencing on my Edge 1030 right now.

Device: Edge 1030
Firmware: latest 7.0

REPRO (This has been my consistent flow since forever):
1. Create course in Strava
2. Export Strava GPX file to computer
3. Move file to NewFiles folder on device
4. When device starts, find saved course and choose "Ride"

EXPECTED: It starts the course, provides prompts on turns, and Dist. to Next field is correct.
ACTUAL: It provides first turn instruction and then stays there on map screen. Dist. to Next field is always either 0m or 9m.

Have the same issue -- using ridewithgps and tcx file. And firmware 7.20.

Additional note to ACTUAL: When I go "off course" the description at the top of the map pages changes to the correct description. When I get back to "course found" the first description returns.

Same her with the last course I created in GC. The older courses on my 1030 don't show that behavior.
