Garmin updated GCM and now Livetrack does not work unless you agree to upload your contacts to the Garmin Server. Does Garmin take all of my contacts that I store on my phone? Why are they doing this!
I am not Garmin, so not sure. But I would think it is only the contacts that you put in the new Contacts menu in Garmin Connect Mobile. These contacts are certainly needed for the feature to work so it makes sense. They could be clearer about what they do.

Two things here; 1) LiveTrack has been able to provide a link by manually entering an email address for some time now, so I don’t know why you think that access to contacts is “certainly” required. 2) no, the permission required (in the iOS app at least) is to ALL contacts, not just selected ones.
Lets face it, from the customers perspective there is no good reason for this suddenly to be mandatory. And the reason it has suddenly been made so hasn’t been shared, so there is no reason to trust that it’s not for reasons we would disapprove of.
I have attached a screen snag from my Edge 1030 showing the text when I try to enable LiveTrack. The key words are - "Without Contacts, these features will be disabled".
I don't have the option, on my iPhone with 12.2 to add garmin connect to access my contacts so, I can't even get to the place that your screen shot shows. This update/ or, lack of being able to use livetrack is very troublesome. I used to rely on it as a safety net for my long rides...
What the f#¤%#% Garmin! Why would you do something like this. Please bring back the option to just add an email address. You don't need my contact list!
