As one of the users who remains p***ed off about the remote issue, and Garmins obvious perminant inability to fix it (or reply to inquiries on re-imbursement...
This has lead me to consider the Varia Vision for a few reasons.
1. Have multiple data screens available to swipe through in cold weather (full finger gloves) - without relying on the Remote (which is not reliable during phone connectivity).
2. Ensure I see / feel warnings from the Varia Radar.
My concerns:
1. Will this disconnect like the remote does while the phone is connected? I've seen two people mention this in the Remote Control threads of the 1030 forum. Seeing how not many people use the Varia Vision, I'm concerned this will be 100% an issue, similar to that of the remote.
2. The Varia Vision firmware hasn't been updated since 2017. Which is fine if it all works great, but is it still really used and supported?
3. I've not seen any mention of cold weather battery performance. As small as the device is, I'm a bit concerned about it holding up in cold weather.
3. For MOUNTAIN BIKING - will the lopsided weight be an issue over rough terrain?

*EDIT*
I have one on its way. Hopefully it works out.
I'm going to try mounting to my helmet since I ride off-road and don't want it on the glasses; hopefully it can be adjusted this way.
I'm still curious if anyone has ever ran this in extreme cold and how the battery holds up; maybe I'll get to test before spring.
