Today is it. I'm done with this company. Today there are other options and my EDGE 1030 is going online for sale. I've owned this 1030. I've owned 1000, and the 820 and on. Its the same. The companys idea of support is endless emails that lead no where. Today, I turned on my Edge. No updates, nothing. But EVERY thing is gone. Rides, settings everything. SPARE me telling me I ought to walk in everyday and backup. Give me a break. Factory settings. Rides? Gone. Configuration? Gone. I logged 9,320 miles last year. (Strava: matthewhinton) and I'm no novice. The product is flawed. The firmware is flawed. It is an AFTERTHOUGHT for Garmin. I'm off to buy a Wahoo.
Seems strange that you talk about poor email support. Did you call tech support? Email support takes forever going back and forth to solve a problem. I'm sure whoever buys your 1030 will have much better luck with it. I'm very pleased with my 1030.

Hey Trippy, perhaps it would be good for G to get a since of the frustration their under developed products provide, I’ve had this Edge for nearly a year. Do you know how I have to upload my rides? A CABLE. Now and then I can get my iPhone to Hotspot as WiFi. Nothing has ever been as advertised. Funny, you say I can be on my way, but offer nothing otherwise.
TrippyZ, please, please, let people make their comments. We are able to judge if there out of line. The remote don't work when a phone is connect with the 1030. It's a known problem for more than year... Still no solution... It can be frustrating. When the products works as advertised, you don't show your frustrations on forums because your satisfied with the product...
email support takes forever... calling them though has always solved my problems and, most of the time, it was something I did. In the US 1-800-800-1020
