After completing a navigation turn, currently it is taking quite a bit of time 20-30sec before the 1030 returns to the screen it was on and/or finds the next navigation point. It used to be just 3-4sec. Not sure what may have changed. I feel like this started in the 6.4 beta because I didn't used to have it. Now it is easy to miss the signal for the next turn if they are close together. Anyone else have this issue or have a solution?
My wife had the same problem with one of the preceeding firmware. I had none with my Edge : same 1030, same firmware, go figure! I thought we had different setups in Navigation, Maps, etc... Never found the difference and then, the lagging was gone. Cannot tell you what I did or did'nt. New maps? Was it dependent of the rides from RWGPS? With time(?) or luck(?), it will correct itself...
Did a lot of testing today and found my problem with the sluggish response. I tried everything even doing factory reset of device, but sluggishness remained. In the end discovered that the OSM map I had downloaded on my 1030 a month ago from http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/ was causing the problem. I had dropped the gmapsupp.img file into the root of the Garmin folder on Edge. I tried it a little, but the went back to the normal Garmin supplied maps disabling the OSM map in the settings. Turns out, it must have still been interfering with the route calculation. I delete the OSM gmapsupp.img file from the Garmin and now navigation is back to full speed with the the Navigation screen disappearing 1-2sec after I go through the turn whereas before it would sometimes take a minute or more. Maybe this will help someone else.
